Join us for this premiere project, perfectly blending a jam session among friends with a group guitar class. All ages are encouraged and just about any instrument too, from guitar to bass to banjo to ukulele and more! Just bring what you have. All skill levels will be welcome and challenged. We’ll even have some performance opportunities for you!
The Teacher. Meet Max . Max knows how to play a million instruments! He’s currently working with students on the guitar, banjo, cuatro, prim and bass. Plus he’s studying bass at The Frost School of Music at UM. You’re going to love his casual approach and knowledgeable skill set. This guitar class is actually his project, and he’s been carefully curating every second of the class.
The Class. Throughout the semester, we will be working on various jam skills, like reading a guitarist’s hands, common harmonic progressions and solid technique, specific to your instrument. We will build up to playing songs together from various genres. By the end, everyone will have a change to perform together!
The Details. All guitar classes are at Fairchild Botanical Garden. Classes are at 2pm on the first and third Sunday of each month through the end of May. When you arrive at the garden, their staff can direct you to the classrooms. Bring your own string instrument, whatever that may be (violin, guitar, ukulele, etc.) and any questions you have about music!
Don’r forget to ask about group and referral discounts!
