Teaching Concepts We Like – Musicianship and Foundation

We can make a great musician out of anyone. We define a great musician as someone who executes their chosen level of music proficiently. Proficiency is excellent technique, outstanding theory and the right background/context of the piece. It’s more than being a great performer or putting on a great show, and it’s more than playing one or two pieces well.

A great musician in our studio can easily maneuver from pop to jazz to classical and beyond – anything he or she wants! Our students can switch from instrument to instrument with no frustration of back tracking because they have a foundation in musicianship. This is why we believe in a well-rounded approach. We love watching our students determine their own path and do it without growing discouraged or losing interest.
