Emily Tang is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and educator, born and raised in Miami Fl. She has been studying music for 16 years, starting with piano at the age of four. Her elementary music teacher urged her to take voice lessons, which began her journey as a vocalist and sparked her interest in a future music career. In the years that followed, Emily’s experiences have made her well versed in most vocal genres, including classical, jazz and musical theater. She attended a magnet high school, Miami Arts Studio, for choir and held many leadership positions, such as section leader, tri-m treasurer, and choir president. She was also part of the creation and launching of a nonprofit record label as the student president and media coordinator. Throughout her high school years, Emily performed with and for notable individuals such as Damian Marley, Karol G, Gloria and Emilio Estefan, and Pope Francis. She took part in the Florida All-State Choirs for five years, qualifying twice for the reading choir. Her choir was featured in a performance in Carnegie Hall, under the direction of Dr. André Thomas, and was invited to open the Music for All Festival in Indianapolis. During Covid, Emily began teaching voice and piano lessons, and has continued doing so for the last 4 years. After graduating high school, Emily is now pursuing a career in music education at Florida International University, studying jazz voice under the instruction of Dr. Lisanne Lyons.
